Adopted Pit Bull Can’t Stop Hugging His Savior

A 4-year-old pit bull named Russ met his savior Kayla Filoon who volunteered as a dog walker at an animal shelter in Philadelphia. A stray that came in all beaten up and extremely skinny was in a life threating danger, especially that the shelter had to put 15 dogs to sleep and any dog could have been one of them, definitely Russ since he was already sick. But from the first moment 20-year-old Kayla laid her eyes on Russ she felt a special connection between them. “He was just sitting there calmly, staring at me. And I thought I need to take him now.” Young lady knew she needed to act fast, so the next day she sorted out the adoption papers at the shelter and two lives were changed forever. “One night I’m sitting there on the chair, doing my homework, and he’s trying to find ways to cuddle with me,” said Kayla. “He’s such a love bug, honestly.” Her friend snapped a photo of those two hugging and it went viral on social media. Kayla is hoping that these photos will inspire people to adopt shelter dogs.
