Vicki Grafton is a film photographer based in Virginia, who travels the world capturing couples unique stories on film. Her greatest inspirations are her clients and the marvellous places she explores every year. She has been to Morocco, Greece, Bali, France, Italy, Finland, New York, California, Honduras, Mexico, Iceland, Grand Cayman, Vermont, Jamaica, Texas and many places in-between, thanks to her clients. How did she start her profession as a wedding photographer? She answers this questions as follows; “In 2008, I married my husband, Phong, at the Istana on the cliffs in Uluwatu Bali, surrounded by our nearest and dearest. I adore intimate events and in the past was a destination wedding planner. This background has given me a deep understanding of what goes into planning a wedding and I have a true kinship with destination couples.” She uses her camera to capture the couples but what makes her captures unique is surely her eye for photography. “With the use of traditional medium format film and my love for natural light, my style is most often described as light and natural with beautiful tones. My style mixes fine art, photo journalistic and editorial styles to document sincere moments and tell my couples story in the most beautiful, timeless way. Everyday I’m honored to share the beauty of what I see behind my lens and create heirlooms that capture cherished moments in couples lives.”, she explains on her website.
