Mindbending Landscapes Photographed in Surreal Fashion

Turkish graphic designer and photographer Aydın Büyüktaş has now published his sequel to his mind-meddling project ‘Flatland’, where he took stunning photos of Istanbul’s most famous Landmarks. Inspired by the Movie Inception as well as the book by Edwin Abbot, Aydin’s latest project ‘Flatland II’ features scenes he’s photographed while traveling across the US. Using drones to take a series of overhead photographs allowed him later to blend together with ground photos he personally took to create a fascinating declining effect, in which the world below looks progressively smaller and flatter.

Aydın Büyüktaş is a Turkish graphic designer and photographer.

This project is called ‘Flatland II’.

Featuring scenes he’s photographed while traveling across the US.

He used drones to take overhead photographs,

Which he later blend with ground photos he personally took.

He achieved a fascinating declining effect,

In which the world below looks progressively smaller and flatter.

First project ‘Flatland’ featured only Istanbul’s most famous landmarks.

The idea for the name flatland is derived from a book by Edwin Abbot.

And the whole project idea was inspired by the movies Inception.
