Eric Pickersgill is Warning Us About Smartphone Addiction Through His Clever Photographs

Eric Pickersgill, photographer from United States, made a clever series of photographs that shows us how ridiculously we look in our addiction to smartphones. He just removed the smartphones, tablets and other similar devices from people’s hands and immediately people on the images started to look unnatural. Name of the project is “Removed” and the photographer got the inspiration from a real-life situation that he witnessed in New York cafe. “Family sitting next to me at Illium café in Troy, NY is so disconnected from one another.Father and two daughters have their own phones out and dad looks up every so often to announce some obscure piece of info he found online” , says Eric. That is exactly the saddest thing we can see on these photographs, that distance between people who are supposed to be very close. We can only hope that these kind of projects will be a wake up call for us all, and that we will know how to appreciate those little special moments with our loved ones, without using smartphones.
