Water. It really is the stuff of life. There are really no words to describe the importance of this essential element. Photographer Enric Adrian Gener thinks that way too. He draws inspiration from the vast and endless blueness. To pay a tribute to the magnificent ocean, Gener made a remarkable series of underwater portraits. He combined relentless and eternal power of the ocean with the mortal and insignificant nature of humans. Artist captures unbelievable images of people fully appreciating the beauty of the sea. “When you’re in this huge liquid medium, unable to breathe or feel gravity, with different light conditions and rules, strength inspires you and makes you think different”, says Gener. The sea doesn’t belong to anyone. It is a place of freedom and the beginning of life itself. The mystery that lies bellow the surface is of the same kind that lies among the stars above us. Gener recognizes the importance of the underwater world and through his photographs he tries to wake up the rest of humanity and make them appreciate the stuff of life.
