Born in Minsk, Belarus, artist Dina Brodsky currently lives and works in New York City. She is well-known with her amazing palm-size paintings. Using painting oil paint over Mylar onto tiny PlexiGlass sheets, she portrays miniature landscapes and still lifes in great detail. She works about 15-20 hours to complete 2 inches by 2 inches paintings and from 150 to 300 hours for 8 inches by 8 inches ones. She says “My goal is to combine traditional painting techniques with contemporary, personal subject matter. I want the viewer to see the importance of a small slice of life, to make each painting, no matter how small, transcend its size and subject and tap into the greater dialogue of painting, both contemporary and historical.” Check out her impressive art pieces!
