We came across talented photographer Derrick Freske on Instagram and wanted to know about him. He shared his story starting from his first camera to his current work. He says “I touched my first DSLR camera my sophomore year of high school during a photography course my school offered. Little did I know back then that those simple nature and still shots would blossom into what I do today. Now I am a fine art and portraiture hobby photographer. Currently, I am studying architecture and interior architecture in college and have already applied what I have learned from photography in many ways.Out of all the photographic styles, conceptual photography is what I love to do. I aim to always tell a story through one of my surreal images. It all starts with a simple sketch in my notebook that flourishes into a final image. There are some nights where I feel inspired enough to fill an entire page of 1″ sketches that I would like to recreate digitally. Once I have an idea, I get a thrill in going out on site and setting up my scene. Later, post-processing brings it all together. As I continue to grow as a person and an artist, I plan on always keeping photography in my life, no matter where I stand. The thrill it gives me and that rewarding feeling after capturing a great image is unlike any other.”
