Your Guide to Shopping For Swimwear

What’s more stressful than jeans shopping? Swimsuit shopping. Without a doubt. The last thing anyone wants to do at the beginning of summer is stand in a dressing room, an array of bikinis and swimsuits in tow, and know it’s time to strip off and try on.

Online shopping is much more comforting for doing your swimwear shop, especially on Zaful. You don’t have to worry about rummaging through the rails for your size, and then dragging yourself to the dreaded changing room. This year we’re switching things up. We’re so much happier crawling into our comfy pants and shopping from the comfort of our couch (with a glass of rosé in hand).

To give you a bit of guidance, we’ve divided our swimsuit guide into five simple categories: large chest, small chest, curvy, pear shape, and slim. Because generally, our main concerns include our chest, our bum/hips, and stomach, right?

There’s a few things to bear in mind before we start, such as, if you’re a chesty gal, don’t skimp on support. Or, for those whose curves never quite grew in the chest area, then don’t worry- we have a few simple tricks to help you fake that gorgeous hourglass shape.

So let’s go and make your swimsuit shopping as easy and stress-free as a day at the beach (er, almost).
Below you’ll find some key tips for your body type and some stunning swimwear suits you’re bound to feel good about buying—and wearing.

Pear Shape
If you are pear shape, you’ll be curvy at the hips and thighs, and smaller on top. What you need to look for: Balance out your proportions with a plunging neckline or embellished top, and look for a bottom without extra fabric. So that’s avoiding thick waistbands, boy shorts, or printed bottoms. The item below is great for this:

Large Bust

If you have a large bust, remember that support is key when wearing swimwear! Look for swimsuits with underwire or moulded cups, and also thicker straps equal more support on top too. Swimsuits that are marked similar to your regular bra, including styles that are a DD and above, are meant to support a larger bust.

This style below will give the look and feel of support whilst still looking gorgeous.

Small Chest
If you have a small chest, or worry about being on the flatter chested side, then don’t worry – there are so many super cute, girly styles out there which accentuate your figure and give the illusion of shape.

For more volume and shape, look for tops with embellishments, patterns, ruffles, or bows. The style below is perfect:

If you’re body shape is more on the curvy side, you’ll tend to find you are curvies throughout your bust, hips, thighs, and butt.
The trick here is to play up your curves! But also look for support and coverage where you can too. Swim suits and bikini sets with waistbands, high-waist bottoms, cutouts and color blocks will accentuate your curves and look fabulous.

You’re a ‘slim’ body type if you have more of a straight up and down, and not so curvy body shape.
Those with slim body types should look for swimsuits and bikinis that create the illusion of curves and shape, yet still flatter the slim figure. Look for details like cutouts, underwiring for a boost, waist details like belts, or even swim suits with less coverage, which can create curves.

Whatever you’re body type, remember to always chose a swimsuit or bikini you feel super comfortable in, and you’ll absolutely rock it on the beach!
