Liberian Model Creates a Brave Project to Raise Awareness About the Lack of Diversity in the Modeling Industry

The fashion industry has evolved drastically over the years, but there are many people out there who think it still lacks diversity when it comes to models. Deddeh Howard is an African model born in Liberia who now lives and works in LA. She recently started a rather interesting and thought-provoking project in order to raise awareness about the lack of diversity in the modeling industry. Her project is called Black Mirror and it’s basically a series of photos in which Deddeh recreates famous fashion campaigns by replacing the biggest fashion models like Kate Moss, Kendal Jenner, and Gisele Bundchen. “With this Black Mirror project, I hope to show the world that it is time for all of us being seen”, says Deddeh.
